Opus Energy reviews: renewable installer benefits from simplified process

In our third article in the ‘Opus Energy reviews’ series, we are going to examine how Clean Earth – a renewable energy system installer – has worked with Opus Energy to make the most of the demand for experienced and fully-accredited installers in the UK. Clean Earth was founded by Dean Robson in 2010, and in the following year, Dean was attempting to agree a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Galsworthy Farm in Galsworthy (near Buckland Brewer, Devon). He was installing solar panels, and was looking for someone to simplify the process and give him the industry requirement knowledge that he needed. This is where Opus Energy stepped in. The experienced team from Opus Energy went through the whole process with Dean, giving him information on an industry level and answering any questions that he had. The installation was a success and is now generating 200MWh/year (or 200,000kWh/year). Mr Robson was thrilled with the service that he received, commenting: “Opus Energy made it much easier to work through the associated bureaucracy. It was obvious that Opus Energy provided us with all that we were after; a responsive service, knowledgeable staff, and a price that was competitive. They certainly offered the best option to meet our needs and we were impressed to get this level of service at such a reasonable price.” Since this initial PPA, Clean Earth continues to work exclusively with Opus Energy to purchase the excess power from its installations. Dean says that Clean Earth has been in touch with other suppliers, but Opus Energy knows the renewables market “far better than anyone else”.
