Quality assurance with PMI analyser

A Parent Metal Identification (PMI) analyser is ensuring the quality of all metals and welding fabrications at ECF. The £20,000 equipment will inspect the chemical composition of all metals through ECF's goods inwards inspection. Managing director Peter Elliott said: “By purchasing our PMI analyser we and ensuring our commitment to meet the highest quality requirements that our Oil & Gas customers expect. “The analyser will enable us to cross check all material certification to the correct UNS material numbers, ensuring full traceability and compliance to all project specifications. All finished weld metals will also be analysed by the PMI to give extra quality assurance that the welding consumables are to code and material standards.
