Green Port Hull presents expansion opportunities

Point Engineering (Hull) Ltd is a specialist engineering & manufacturing business in the Point Group of companies undergoing expansion. A successful application for a slice of the “Growing the Humber” RGF grant, supported by HSBC and capital investment from the business means that the company will add new space, new equipment, boost capability, improve productivity and create more local jobs. Jonathan Rollison, Financial Director, said “This is another significant event in the history of our business which will secure existing and create further jobs for people in Hull. We were delighted that the Humber LEP approved our application which held up to scrutiny and was subsequently accepted by NE Lincolnshire council who facilitate the release of the funding. HSBC have been very helpful through the whole process and I commend their diligence and support, without which our business would not be as strong. The Point Group has invested continually in Hull and now operates from more than 10,000 sqm of factory, yard, storage and office space to become one of the largest engineering firms in the region. We are very aware of the significant opportunity that the recent Siemens announcement will bring to the area and knowing now that wind turbine and blade manufacturing will be on our door step will drive us in working hard to support local industry.”
